Since the holiday season is finally in full swing and finals week is under way ;), I thought it would be the best time to share with you guys, my absolute favorite drink that will leave me energized for the rest of the day. Recently, I have been OBSESSED with kombucha because it comes in so many drink flavors and is designed to detox and fully energize your body way better than a cup of coffee. Some background about kombucha......
Kombucha is a traditional fermented drink made of black tea and sugar. It contains a variety of vitamins, minerals and enzymes and has been prized by traditional cultures for its health-promoting properties. This fermented tea has a slightly sweet and slightly tangy flavor, reminiscent of a shrub or vinegar based drink. The flavor varies widely by brand and homebrew method. Finished kombucha tea can also be flavored in a process called secondary fermentation by adding juices, fruit or herbs.
REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD TRY KOMBUCHA TEA

For today's Sunday inspiration, I wanted to share with you all a daily devotional that really touched me today! Everyday, I save like 15 minutes or so to read my daily devotional to help me control what kind of day I want to have. What I love the most about the "Jesus Calling" daily devotional is that it provides you to able to actually captivate what God is trying to get you to understand and makes you rethink your perspective on life. Everyone has their own ritual but the words that I hope everyone is able to meditate on is to "not control your outcomes" Everything happens for a reason, and especially for seniors, everything that happens, regarding college admissions, happens for a reason! We cannot stress on what is already done and sometimes we have to remember that if we really wanted to change something before it took place, we would've. From every essay, final exam you took that impacted your grade negatively or positively, it happened for a reason because everyone has their own plan for success. The main focus we should concentrate on is the NOW because at the end of the day, our plan for life has already been created.
For today's Sunday inspiration, I thought that it would be a great idea to post a a variety of quotes that you could connect to captivate your mood or feeling. I think that it is so important for us to be a inspired daily because it helps us spread positive vibes and keeps us in such a happy and peaceful state of mind! So as you recoup and catch up on this Sunday, I hope you get inspired by these quotes and many more as your head into a brand new week!
Since Sundays are normally days when people recoup and reflect on the previous week or take the time to relax, I wanted to do a weekly post that showcases inspiration for any type of mood or feeling that you might feel on your Sunday vibe. In all honestly, Sundays are my favorite day of the week because it's the day I am able to catch up, watch nonstop football with my family, destress and take some time out for myself. So I hope you guys enjoy these Sunday vibe colleges straight from my Tumblr that inspire you and create your "mood" for the upcoming week!

So you might have already noticed that I'm really big on healthy eating and finding new ways to incorporate the lifestyle into my everyday life. I wanted to share with you guys a cool spot that has become my FAVORITE place to have lunch/dinner with my family and friends. True Food Kitchen is the best place to truly enjoy eating healthy on your quest to living well. They have so many options from bowls, salads (MEDITERRANEAN QUINOA SALAD IS HANDS DOWN AMAZING!!!), to vibrant entrees that honestly make you forget that you're eating healthy. Another reason I love this place is because of the cozy, low-light set-up that makes it more relaxing to talk with your friends and family! They have an open kitchen that is open for the whole restaurant to see how they prepare their dishes and it makes my experience 10x better knowing that my food is prepared super fresh!!
I hope you guys give this restaurant a try because this place is the capital of eating good healthy food for your money! True Food Kitchen is so yummy and has the coolest atmosphere!
A lot of times, school can be super stressful and you can't even remember what to study because you have so many others things you need to finish. I can be the first to say that I'm not the best at staying focused in school but throughout my years in school, I have found some new ways to keep myself on top of my game and motivated for the remainder of the school year.
FIRST, GET A PLANNER (if you do not have one already) - planning my assignments and my extracurricular activities throughout the week have helped me stay on top of my academics while enjoying my extracurriculars as well. I love to be AS COLORFUL AS I CAN with my planner because it helps me understand what assignments/homework I should do first, second, and so on. So I would definitely suggest buying some colorful pens and markers because not only does it make planning your week more easily, it also helps with studying as well. One good habit that I've now started is by writing my, for example, AP or more rigorous classes in all caps in colorful pen so that I automatically know to get that out of the way first. Planning out your week with more color will make your life a lot more easier, promise!!!
- I absolutely LOVE all the planners from shopbando.com so you guys should check them out to start your school year off right because you still have time!!!
SECOND, CREATE A MOOD PLAYLIST - As cheesy as it may sound, music is literally my breakthrough to getting all my homework done in a timely manner. I love listening to soft ballads and focus music while I study because it makes my night 10x easier. School stress can be a lot so creating a playlist that helps you focus and relax with doing your homework/classwork speeds your night up a lot. Here are some of my suggestions to add to your focus playlist:
THRID, AFTERNOON SNACKS!!! - You definitely should not starve yourself so that you can get all your homework done super fast because that just stresses yourself even more. I am that girl that runs to get the Pizza Rolls out of my oven and have absolutely no shame. But I have educated myself to realize that healthier snacks are better fuel for your brain than Pizza Rolls so here are some of my new eats for after school that keep you energized and focused on your after school work!
- Any energy bars are a BIG plus! (Lara, Luna, Cliff, Kind or MakeGood bars)
- A healthy tortilla wrap that contains maybe turkey and a few avocado slices is an easy quick snack plus it has double the power because it rejuvenates your skin and fuels your brain.
- A bowl of fruit and a bottle of kombucha is my go-to a lot of times because KOMBUCHA is addictive but super good for you and beats coffee any day and snacking on fruit while you trying to study for an upcoming test or reading a assigned English book keeps you SUPERR awake making the night move much faster! (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!)
- Any smoothie that includes kale or any power greens and fruit is something that I love to make after school to help start my work night off on a good note!
LASTLY, DO AS MUCH WORK IN YOUR CLASS AS YOU CAN (trust me, it pays off) - no one wants to ever be doing more work than they have to so try to at least complete all classwork in class so that you can just focus so your homework that is assigned "for home." It can be hard at times because some days, you're just not feeling like working in class but remind yourself that more sleep and more time for extracurricular comes with being more efficient in class so TRY IT!!!!
Hope all of these tips help your school year more organized so that you can focus more on the fun part!!
